KETA DISTRICT UNITS

The Constitution of the Association provides for the formation of the District Units in the state. Six district units are already formed in KOTTAYAM , KOZHIKODE , THIRUVANANTHAPURAM, KANNUR, PALAKKAD and THRISSUR .

KETA KOTTAYAM UNITS

It is the Ist district unit of our association. Kottayam Unit was officially inaugurated on 15-9-1999.

Report of the 6^th Annual general Body Meeting
Venue : Hotel Pearl Regency, Kottayam
Date and Time : 222-0-2005, 6.30 P.M

The meeting commenced with silent prayer under the chairmanship of President Mr. Kurian Joseph. The members observed one minute silence in remembrance of the departed souls of members and their Kith and Kins, during the year. 60 members were present. After self introduction of the participants, Mr. S.Sankar welcomed the gathering. The Secretary then presented the minutes of the 5th Annual General Body Meeting held on 24-04-04 at Hotel Aiswarya, Kottayam, and it was adopted.

The Secretary then presented the Annual Report of the Unit for the year 2004-2005, and it was adopted. The Treasurer presented the audited annual account for the year 2004-2005, and it was adopted. In the presidential address Mr. Kurian Joseph thanked all the members and the KETA, Central Committee for their co-operation and support for the smooth functioning of the association. He congratulated the members and Central Committee for the efforts put in regarding the VAT discussions, He also encouraged the members to work more for the uplift of our Association.

In the absence of Mr. Thampy Iype, the appointed returning officer, Mr.R. Mohan Prasad, the Central Committee Secretary, was requested to take charge as the returning officer, and the election of the new Executive Committee was conducted by him for the term 2005-2007. He announced the names of the 6 valid nominations received and one more person had to be elected from among the members present. Mr. Abraham Thomas proposed the name of Mr. S.Sankar and Mr. V.Krishnan supported and The returning officer announced the names of the new Executive Committee Members as follows.

The meeting disbursed for a short break and executive committee held its First Meeting under the Chairmanship of the returning officer, Mr. R.Mohan Prasad, to elect the new office bearers. In the meantime the meeting again continued and Mr.E.V.George, past President KETA, Central Committee gave a presentation on the VAT Rules and answered the questions from the members.

The Returning Officer Mr. R.Mohan Prasad then announced the names of the new office bearers for the term-2005-2007.

The Treasurer Mr. Jimmy John presented the Annual Budget for the year 2005-2006 and it was adopted.  Mr. Sudhir Menon, KETA Central Committee President, Mr. K Udayakumar, Secretary, KETA Thiruvananthappuram Unit, and Mr. Sreekumar, Manager, M/s. Toms Pipes, Thottakkadu, the sponsors of the meeting felicitated KETA and the new office bearers of the Kottyam Unit. 

Mr. Kurian Joseph, the President addressed the gathering, and requested their support for the smooth functioning of this year also.  He thanked M/s. Toms Pipes, Thottakkadu for sponsoring the function.  He also thanked the following firms for their co-operation by sponsoring gifts.

Mr. John Abraham, the new Vice President expressed the vote of thanks and the meeting disbursed at 8.40 P.M. for dinner sponsored by M/s. Toms Pipes, Thottakkadu.
